Faux Attacks

So there I was.. browsing away as I do quite often do, and I stumbled upon Fox Attacks.
Want a reason why the US should not even be considering a war with Iran? Try this:

Afghanistan
Population: 31,889,923
Land: 250,001 sq miles

Iraq
Population: 27,499,638
Land: 168,754 square miles

Iran
Population: 65,397,521
Land: 636,296 square miles

That's right, Iran is geographically larger and more populous than Iraq and Afghanistan PUT TOGETHER.

Doesn't that say it all?
Indeed it does.

But with further reading, we see it is quite apparent that Fox's nefarious reporting is pushing us into a war with Iran.

Now, I like Fox News.. I actually watch quite a bit as Julie Banderas is pretty hot, but in light of these accusations, I thought I would go ahead and turn the sound up and witness first hand the "ever-present drumbeat for war".

First story out of the idiot box is about a heatwave in Memphis that has killed 13 people. Damn Iranians.

Next up is some cop that killed his pregnant girlfriend. Obviously one of those 'honor killings'.

After then hearing about how the Orange Bowl may be demolished as a preemptive measure, I began to see what the clamoring was all about. However, not completely satisfied with my findings, I figured I'd head over to foxnews.com for some further research. After doing a quick search for Iran, the evidence comes glaring through.

Like this little goodie:
Iran and the U.N. nuclear watchdog reached an agreement on a timetable to respond to questions over Tehran's controversial nuclear activities, both sides said Tuesday.
It almost takes an impartial, journalistic tone.. until you read further.
"Iran has an extensive history of promising cooperation and failing to follow through," Gallegos said. "Plans for cooperation are no substitution for actual cooperation and Iran's actions in the coming weeks will speak louder than its words."
Did you catch that? Fox's slanted reprint of this Associated Press story leads the reader to believe that Iran won't cooperate with the UN, simply because they haven't in the past. They've set up the 'wait and see' stance in such a way, that when Iran doesn't follow through, it will be used as evidence of 'non-cooperation'.

Buried deeper in the Iran search on page 2, Fox's rhythm section chimes in with an out of context quote from Revolutionary Guards leader Gen. Yahya Rahim Safavi.
"America will receive a heavier punch from the guards in the future," he was quoted as saying in the conservative daily Kayhan. "We will never remain silent in the face of U.S. pressure and we will use our leverage against them."
What other reason could Fox have to report this (via AP), than to stir up fear among the flock? Heavier punch, indeed. As if they've admitted to hitting us previously.

And in case that wasn't enough to have you quivering in your foxhole, we're reminded of the colossal size of the enemy.
The estimated 200,000-strong Revolutionary Guards is an elite force separate from Iran's regular military and has its own ground, naval and air units.
With just over .3 Revolutionary Guards per square mile of Iran, considering an attack is sheer lunacy, and Fox needs to be stopped before they can set their sights on Syria. And THAT, says it all.
